Carrickfergus Manor

Carrickfergus Manor is a beautiful residential care and nursing home, located just a short walk from Carrickfergus town. Our home, with a wonderful accessible garden area, is modern and purpose built and is specially designed to comfortably accommodate up to 90 residents.

We provide kind and compassionate residential and nursing care, around the clock, for people over the age of 65, including those living with dementia. Our professional care team is highly-trained and experienced to ensure that the highest levels of care are provided at all times.

The private bedrooms are beautifully furnished, with en-suite toilet facilities. Residents may bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their space and make it their home. The home also has excellent amenities, including comfortable lounge and dining areas in which residents can relax and enjoy the company of others.

Designed to enable those we care for to maintain their independence, Carrickfergus Manor is a safe, well-kept, home-from-home setting, with a wonderful team and a great reputation.

Activities & Wellbeing

At Kathryn Homes, the mental wellbeing of our residents is just as important as their physical wellbeing.

Experiencing people chatting, hearing laughter and seeing people smiling, being kind to one another and looking out for one another is the exact environment we strive to create. We encourage people to be as active as possible, and continue with their lifelong hobbies whilst discovering new interests.

The Wellbeing Leads in each of our care homes develop a varied programme of activities taking into account hobbies and talents of our residents whilst also dedicating time to reflect and reminisce about their lives. Regular activities include arts and crafts, baking, current affairs discussions, games, exercise sessions, gardening, singing, dancing and listening to music.

We respect all our residents as individuals and mark every special occasion, achievement and event possible in a meaningful, memorable way.

With beautiful gardens and outdoor areas, our residents enjoy taking time to enjoy the fresh air, observe nature, tend to plants or flowers or to have a cup of tea and a chat in the open air!

Dining & Nutrition

Mealtimes are a sociable highlight of each and every day. The tables are laid, the menu is visible and it is a natural opportunity for all our residents to be in the company of others, in a restaurant style environment. Meals and snacks can however also be enjoyed in private, should this be the resident’s preference. Our carers are on hand to assist whenever required and, committed to the wellbeing of our residents, we discreetly track intake too.

We understand the importance of good nourishment and hydration, especially as we grow older. Our cooks and catering teams are fully-trained and experienced to produce a menu of fresh meals each day, in consultation with residents and families. Our homemade, comforting and delicious meals are created with care, to suit all tastebuds and dietary requirements.

Snacks, treats and a variety of drinks are always available in our shared spaces, on a self-serve basis, and are also frequently offered by our teams, to help keep everyone well-nourished and satisfied.

Our Care Commitment

Highly trained and passionate about making a difference to the lives of others and truly caring, our dedicated teams are professional, and provide a person-centred approach to care for every individual.

Our team, mostly from the local and surrounding communities, pride themselves on their genuine sense of compassion, reassurance and enjoy providing companionship for our residents.

We aim to provide a safe, stimulating and comfortable environment, where our teams work collectively to deliver the highest standards of residential care.
