Welcome to

Kintullagh House

Kintullagh is a beautiful, purpose-built care home in Ballymena, providing 24 hour professional, person-centred care for older people.

Our home comfortably caters for up to 61 people and we remain very proud of the safe, wonderfully relaxing, home-from-home environment we created.

The professional care and nursing team at Kintullagh are kind and friendly in their nature, and highly-trained and experienced too, ensuring the highest levels of person-centred care. We are available, around the clock, to support the needs and wishes of all our residents, with the utmost dignity and respect. We care through listening and by following bespoke care plans, to ensure residents’ optimal health and wellbeing.

All of our private, light and spacious bedrooms are fully-furnished and with the benefit of en-suite bathroom facilities. Residents are very welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their space with their own familiar items to make it their home.

Kintullagh also has excellent amenities, all fully designed to cater for residents, including a café, comfortable lounges and dining spaces, in which we enable residents to maintain their independence as much as is possible, in the safest possible environment.

Welcome to Kintullagh House Nursing Home, I am Bronach Campbell.

As the Registered Nurse Manager, I believe in ‘choice’ being central to good nursing care.

I am currently completing my Masters Degree in Nursing Science and am keen to link some of the most recent best practice initiatives to the care provided at Kintullagh House.

My team and I are committed to delivering truly person-centred care to our residents in a safe, stimulating, homely environment.

Our home is purpose-built and provides our residents with the facilities to relax in the comfort of their room or to take part in wellbeing activities or social events in our lounge.

I look forward to welcoming you to your new home.

Welcome to our home where we offer professional, person-centred care in a comfortable, safe and stimulating environment. Our helpful, kind and friendly team are available to help answer any questions that you might have about our services. Activities & Wellbeing

At Kathryn Homes, the mental wellbeing of our residents is just as important as their physical wellbeing.

Experiencing people chatting, hearing laughter and seeing people smiling, being kind to one another and looking out for one another is the exact environment we strive to create. We encourage people to be as active as possible, and continue with their lifelong hobbies whilst discovering new interests.

The Wellbeing Leads in each of our care homes develop a varied programme of activities taking into account hobbies and talents of our residents whilst also dedicating time to reflect and reminisce about their lives. Regular activities include arts and crafts, baking, current affairs discussions, games, exercise sessions, gardening, singing, dancing and listening to music.

We respect all our residents as individuals and mark every special occasion, achievement and event possible in a meaningful, memorable way.

With beautiful gardens and outdoor areas, our residents enjoy taking time to enjoy the fresh air, observe nature, tend to plants or flowers or to have a cup of tea and a chat in the open air!

Dining & Nutrition

Mealtimes are a sociable highlight of each and every day. The tables are laid, the menu is visible and it is a natural opportunity for all our residents to be in the company of others, in a restaurant style environment. Meals and snacks can however also be enjoyed in private, should this be the resident’s preference. Our carers are on hand to assist whenever required and, committed to the wellbeing of our residents, we discreetly track intake too.

We understand the importance of good nourishment and hydration, especially as we grow older. Our cooks and catering teams are fully-trained and experienced to produce a menu of fresh meals each day, in consultation with residents and families. Our homemade, comforting and delicious meals are created with care, to suit all tastebuds and dietary requirements.

Snacks, treats and a variety of drinks are always available in our shared spaces, on a self-serve basis, and are also frequently offered by our teams, to help keep everyone well-nourished and satisfied.

Our Care Commitment

Highly trained and passionate about making a difference to the lives of others and truly caring, our dedicated teams are professional, and provide a person-centred approach to care for every individual.

Our team, mostly from the local and surrounding communities, pride themselves on their genuine sense of compassion, reassurance and enjoy providing companionship for our residents.

We aim to provide a safe, stimulating and comfortable environment, where our teams work collectively to deliver the highest standards of residential care.
